Privacy Policy

Clear information about how SmartBundle handles merchant, store, order, storefront, and customer-related data for Shopify bundle and growth tools.

Last updated: May 27, 2026support@smartbundle.app

Built for Shopify merchants and storefront experiences

SmartBundle powers product bundles, frequently bought together offers, tiered and volume discounts, cart progress bars, cart bundle nudges, post-purchase upsells, inventory-aware display rules, analytics, billing plans, and no-code styling. This policy describes the data practices connected to those features.

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how SmartBundle collects, uses, shares, and protects information when merchants install or use the app, including app admin features, storefront widgets, theme app extension features, Shopify Functions/discount logic, billing, and analytics.

SmartBundle uses data only to provide, operate, support, and improve app functionality. We follow a data minimization approach and request Shopify data only when it is needed for product bundles, discounts, cart tools, post-purchase offers, inventory logic, analytics, billing, support, or related app features.

Information We Collect

The information SmartBundle may collect depends on the features a merchant enables and the permissions granted through Shopify. This may include merchant account details, store settings, product catalog data, order-related data, app configuration, analytics events, billing plan information, and limited storefront interaction data.

We do not intentionally collect information that is not needed for app functionality, support, security, billing, analytics, or feature improvement.

Merchant and Store Data

SmartBundle may process merchant and store information such as shop domain, store name, currency, locale, plan status, app installation status, app settings, billing information, and support contact details.

This information is used to authenticate the store, load the correct app configuration, provide support, manage billing plans, and ensure SmartBundle features work correctly for each merchant.

Product, Bundle, Inventory, and Discount Data

SmartBundle may use product, variant, collection, inventory, availability, pricing, and image data to let merchants create product bundles, frequently bought together offers, tiered or volume discounts, cart progress bars, cart bundle nudges, and discount displays.

Bundle configuration, discount rules, widget styling, trigger products, offer products, inventory auto-hide settings, and related app settings may be stored so SmartBundle can render storefront offers and apply discount logic.

Order, Analytics, and Post-Purchase Offer Data

SmartBundle may process order-related data when needed to measure bundle performance, attribute revenue, calculate analytics, track post-purchase offer impressions and acceptances, understand plan usage, and provide reporting to merchants.

Order-related data may be used for analytics, attribution, post-purchase offer performance, revenue tracking, conversion reporting, average order value insights, and usage limits tied to billing plans.

Customer Data and Protected Customer Data

Depending on the features enabled and Shopify permissions granted, SmartBundle may process limited customer or protected customer data in connection with orders, analytics, post-purchase offers, support, fraud prevention, or privacy request handling.

SmartBundle is designed to avoid collecting unnecessary customer data. When customer or protected customer data is processed, it is used only as needed to provide app functionality, support merchant reporting, respect privacy requests, and maintain app security.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide and improve SmartBundle features, including bundle creation, discount display and logic, storefront widgets, cart progress behavior, cart bundle nudges, post-purchase upsells, inventory auto-hide, analytics, billing, troubleshooting, support, security, and product improvement.

SmartBundle does not sell personal data. We do not use merchant or customer information for unrelated advertising networks or data brokerage.

Cookies, Local Storage, and Storefront Tracking

SmartBundle storefront widgets may use cookies, local storage, session storage, or similar browser technologies to remember cart nudge dismissals, frequency limits, progress bar behavior, widget preferences, recently viewed offer state, or similar storefront settings.

Storefront interaction events may be used to understand widget views, clicks, conversions, revenue attribution, post-purchase offer performance, and feature reliability. Merchants are responsible for configuring their storefront notices, consent tools, and customer disclosures as required by laws that apply to their store.

How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers who help operate SmartBundle, such as hosting, database, email, analytics, monitoring, payment, billing, or support providers. These providers are expected to process information only to provide services to SmartBundle.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and security, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. SmartBundle does not sell personal data.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide SmartBundle, support merchants, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and improve app reliability.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data, the feature involved, Shopify requirements, merchant account status, support needs, legal requirements, and backup or security practices.

Data Deletion and Shopify Privacy Webhooks

SmartBundle is designed to support merchant privacy obligations by respecting Shopify privacy webhook topics, including customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact, where applicable to the app data we hold.

When a valid Shopify privacy webhook or deletion request is received, SmartBundle should review, export, delete, or redact relevant data in accordance with Shopify requirements, applicable law, and the app's operational needs.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Merchants should keep Shopify account access, staff permissions, and theme access secure, and should contact us promptly if they believe SmartBundle-related information has been accessed without authorization.

Merchant Rights and Choices

Merchants can manage SmartBundle settings in the app, disable storefront widgets, change billing plans, uninstall the app, or contact support to request help with data access, correction, export, deletion, or privacy-related questions.

Customer privacy requests should generally be handled through Shopify's privacy tools and Shopify privacy webhooks. SmartBundle is designed to support merchant compliance workflows, but merchants remain responsible for their own legal obligations and storefront disclosures.

International Data Processing

SmartBundle and its service providers may process information in countries other than the merchant's or customer's country. Data protection laws may differ between jurisdictions.

Where required, merchants should evaluate their own cross-border transfer obligations and include appropriate disclosures in their store policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to SmartBundle, Shopify platform requirements, legal obligations, or operational practices.

When we update this policy, we will revise the Last updated date above. Continued use of SmartBundle after an update means the updated policy applies from the effective date stated on the page.
